Come for me
Quickly
Ransom me
Swiftly
End this race
Often ran in reverse
With these crooked paths
My heart won't straighten
I'm lost, weak, and fallen
found, strengthened, and redeemed
Prepare the way, some say
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

We will all be changed
You whispered,
'it's not up to you'
And I wept
Not because i wanted to.
I shouted,
And you wept
Not because you had to.
It was never up to me.
It is never up to me.
It will never be up to me.
And now you're offering an exchange
restlessness for Trust
mourning for Dancing
sorrow for Joy
Help me, good Shepherd.
'it's not up to you'
And I wept
Not because i wanted to.
I shouted,
And you wept
Not because you had to.
It was never up to me.
It is never up to me.
It will never be up to me.
And now you're offering an exchange
restlessness for Trust
mourning for Dancing
sorrow for Joy
Help me, good Shepherd.

these three abide
building your temples
with sweet patience
unashamed
you chase
unashamed
you weep
astounded with simplicity
amazed by affections
longings increase
remaining unmatched
may we hunger
may we thirst
Blessed are we
to choose
faith
hope
love
with sweet patience
unashamed
you chase
unashamed
you weep
astounded with simplicity
amazed by affections
longings increase
remaining unmatched
may we hunger
may we thirst
Blessed are we
to choose
faith
hope
love

57
Deep calls to deep
and my shallow waters rage
broken glass at my feet
and I'm not found at yours
Oh, futile idolotry
be far from me
Desperate for a Savior
Desperate for Mercy
Desperate for a Healer
Come quickly, Father, and shatter these abominations kilned in the fire.
Create in me the fruit of the lips.
and my shallow waters rage
broken glass at my feet
and I'm not found at yours
Oh, futile idolotry
be far from me
Desperate for a Savior
Desperate for Mercy
Desperate for a Healer
Come quickly, Father, and shatter these abominations kilned in the fire.
Create in me the fruit of the lips.

Psalming
For you knew me before I was breathing.
In my deafness, you called.
You loved me before I loved.
You were before me.
You whispered;
and it wasn't harsh at all.
Rain humility, for you are the worthy one.
Rain your words, for they are flawless and healing.
Be my portion.
My chosen portion.
Shield my eyes and close my mouth.
You're the one flooding my dreams.
In my deafness, you called.
You loved me before I loved.
You were before me.
You whispered;
and it wasn't harsh at all.
Rain humility, for you are the worthy one.
Rain your words, for they are flawless and healing.
Be my portion.
My chosen portion.
Shield my eyes and close my mouth.
You're the one flooding my dreams.

April Showers
This past week I asked the Lord for rain.
It's no secret that I love rain...I love that it has so many analogies associated with it.
Now, I'm not a very visual/metaphorical/poetic person, but rain GETS me.
The Lord waters and soaks the earth like He does our spirits. The water from above, quite literally, is life giving. And I dig that.
Yet, in asking the Lord for this physical rain, there was a waiting period. No matter how much I longed for the rain, there was no rushing the breakthrough.
And then it rained.
And it rained, and rained, and rained.
Your will, Jesus. Your timing, Lord.
I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living!
Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!
Psalm 27:13-14
in the land of the living!
Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!
Psalm 27:13-14
